Medlite C6 laser toning is a technology that treats mild scars, fine wrinkling and excessive redness. It works best on people with relatively fair skin and cannot be used on darker skin types. This is a nonablative wrinkle removal therapy that spares the skin surface but acts by heating the deeper tissues which then remodel, producing dramatic improvement in uneven skin texture, fine wrinkles, and large pores. You can expect to see progressive but subtle improvement after each treatment. There are no side effects, such as bruising or excessive skin irritation, and topical anesthetics are not necessary. The only sensation is that of a warming of the deeper skin.

What areas can be treated?

Medlite laser toning can produce good results over the entire face and neck. In addition this can be used to diminish scars on other parts of the body.

What is diffuse redness?

Diffuse redness is widespread facial redness, caused by multiple dilated small capillaries. Usually there are not individually visible vessels. This occurs most commonly on the nose, forehead and cheeks, and it may be associated with rosacea or may be hereditary. Laser toning will gently reduce this condition and improve your appearance. What are the advantages of Medlite laser toning over similar procedures?

The Medlite uses very short bursts of energy that are quickly dissipated. This helps reduce the risk of damage to or blistering of the skin.

What does the procedure feel like?

Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic feeling. As the laser hand piece is moved back and forth about 1/2 inch above the skin surface, you will feel a gentle warming of the skin. After the treatment you can return to your normal activities, but should use good sunscreens (Anthelios) if outdoors.

How does the laser toning work?

By gently heating the upper dermis, well beneath the surface of the skin, Medlite C6 therapy stimulates collagen regrowth. The heat that is generated in the capillaries helps to reduce skin redness.

What can I expect before the treatment?

You will not need to use any ice or anesthetic cream before the treatment, but you will be asked to remove any moisturizers and make-up from the area. In some cases it will be necessary to shave the area o be treated, so as not to interfere with the laser therapy.

How many treatments will I need?

The treatment results are often subtle, and take time to manifest themselves. It is not uncommon to require four to six treatments to achieve best results.

What are the possible side effects of treatment?

Although most patients report few, if any side effects, the most common one reported is some mild redness that vanishes within a few hours of treatment. With our previous machine, which had a longer wave duration, and dumped more energy into the skin, we have seen a rare blister after this treatment. So far we have not seen this with our new, safer laser.

What kind of textural improvements can you expect with Medlite C6 laser toning?

Over the course of four to six treatments, Medlite therapy can help restore your skin's youthful glow and appearance, by smoothing out textural evenness caused by ageing, sun damage and scars. You will notice a more creamy, healthy complexion as large pores are reduced in size and minor imperfections are decreased. The individual treatment results are subtle, but the overall effect of multiple treatment effects can edramatic.
