Chin Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction, using microcannulas, is an effective way to treat the accumulations of fat under the chin and in the jowls. Tiny holes are made in the skin and the tumescent solution is injected into the fat. Then microcannulas are used to remove much of the fat and an elastic bandage is used for 48 hours to hold the skin in the desired position.

In appropriate patients the skin almost always adheres to the overlying tissues, removing the objectionable bags and bulges. Aside from some temporary bruising and swelling, there may be temporary weakness of the nerve that controls the corner of the mouth, resulting in some temporary drooping. In our experience this has always been temporary, and people have been quite pleased with this procedure.
