Aptos Featherlift
The Aptos Featherlift involves the use of nylon threads to lift and stabilize the skin. The threads are made of the same nylon that is used in suture material, but the threads have little barbs that grip the skin. Aptos threads can be used both in the forehead (to elevate the eyebrows) and in the cheeks (to tighten the skin of the cheeks, jowls and neck).
The results in the eyebrows are more dramatic than the cheek results, and the eyebrows can be contoured to the patient's desire. The Aptos threads appear to be extremely safe; aside from bruising and temporary swelling, the only other risk appears to be the rare infection. The Aptos threads can be easily altered after insertion, and it is possible to put in an additional thread or to remove one if necessary. The Aptos threads remain in place permanently and are felt to reduce further skin sagging by holding the skin in place.
